INTEGRATED SYSTEMS TESTING

INTEGRATED SYSTEMS TESTING

Integrated Systems Testing is carried out prior to handover of the facility to ensure that all the systems operate in accordance with the design intent. It is the final test which determines if the design, equipment selection and construction meet the performance expectations.

In almost all cases, critical facilities are not fully populated at handover of the project; therefore in order to test the system, the design assumptions based on full load and all possible failure scenarios are simulated.

DSCO has developed a test methodology which includes cause and effects analysis, documented script, dry run and finally the IST. This method of testing enables the engineer to verify with a high degree of certainty the following:

  • Systems are functionally integrated;
  • Systems communicate properly when faults occur;
  • Systems continue to operate as planned in a crisis;
  • Weakest links in the system;
  • System can be operated reliably
